About Think-Habits Math Lab

What Is Think-Habit?

Think-Habit is a simple idea with profound implications: the way you think is a habit. And like any habit, it can be trained.

Most education focuses on what to think—facts, formulas, procedures. Think-Habit focuses on how to think—the mental patterns that determine whether you give up or push through, whether you see problems as threats or puzzles, whether you stay stuck or find a way.

This theory was developed by Sam Chung, and it has shaped how I approach everything I do with students.

What Think-Habits Math Lab Is About

Think-Habits Math Lab helps students grow through mathematics—with a focus on the thinking skills that truly matter in the age of AI.

This isn't about memorizing formulas or chasing test scores. It's about developing problem-solving abilities that no machine can replicate. Through math, we train the habits of mind that serve you for life.

The problems you solve here aren't just math problems. They're opportunities to reshape how you think.

What You'll Find Here

I write about the questions that keep me up at night:

  • What skills do we actually need in the AI era?
  • How can studying math build those skills?
  • What does real, personalized growth look like—not just in scores, but in thinking?

Whether you're a student or a parent, this site offers insights and practical guidance to help you—or your child—become the kind of thinker this new world demands.

Who's Behind This

Think-Habits Math Lab is built on the Think-Habit theory developed by my father, Sam Chung.

I'm Madison Chung. I've taken his ideas and applied them specifically to mathematics education, because I've seen how powerful math can be as a training ground for the mind.

I don't just teach math. I coach students to develop the thinking habits that shape how they approach any challenge—in school and far beyond.
